Glaze & Colour - with a little help from my friend

My previous glaze and colour courses have help to equip student potters with a basic understanding of glaze materials and ceramic colours, and how, with a little practice and educated guesswork it is possible to create and adjust glaze recipes. This new course is designed to take a further step towards formulating glazes by taking a closer look at the elements involved, studying published recipes and utilising a computer programme as an aid to more predictable results.

The course will jointly be lead by Ray and Anja Penger–Onyett, Anglian Potter and chemist who has made a study of early Chinese glazes, and with the aid of a computer programme has successfully translated recipes for use with materials available from local suppliers.
